At the age of 28, he set up this company with the objective of structuring and placing fixed-income securities. The main instruments offered were asset-backed securitizations, supported by lease and vehicle loan receivables. From inception, he successfully raised over LKR 40 billion in fixed-income securities.

He was responsible for developing the securitization model, overseeing the book-building process (lining up investors), coordinating due diligence with auditors (E&Y), and liaising with lawyers and the trustee (Deutsche Bank) for the offering of securities.

Notable transactions include the largest securitization in the year 2015 for the leading finance company in Sri Lanka, Peoples Leasing and Finance PLC.

Jonathan Abeywickrema
Holds bachelors of commerce majoring in Accounting and Finance, CFA and Certificate in Forex and Treasury Management from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. He is a seasoned Fund Management, Treasury, and Investment Banking expert with 12+ years of experience in impact investing and development banking. As Director of Impact Partners at IIX, he has facilitated capital raises exceeding $100M for over 50 global impact enterprises. Previously, he led Sri Lanka’s first impact funds with UNDP at LIIN and established the custodian & investment banking unit at Hatton National Bank where he managed client relationships in excess of USD 2.5 Billion. Jonathan is a thought leader in sustainable finance and the Custodian Banking space in Sri Lanka.
